Who we are
At We Care-a-oke, we believe in the transformative power of group singing — not just as entertainment, but as a pathway to health, connection and wellbeing. Our sessions bring people together in joyful, supportive spaces where everyone can sing, laugh and share music — no experience required.
Singing for Health and Wellbeing
Research shows that singing in groups has measurable benefits for both mind and body. Group singing has been linked with improvements in psychological wellbeing — including reduced anxiety, enhanced mood and a strong sense of belonging — especially in community settings where social connection is key.
Singing also supports lung health. By engaging in vocal activity, singers can help strengthen the respiratory system, improve posture, and encourage mindful breathing — all of which can contribute to a healthier relationship with one’s body and breath.
Singing has been evidenced to offer benefits for people living with long-term neurological conditions. Group singing programmes have been associated with improvements in quality of life, reduced stress, and enhanced social support among people living with Parkinson’s disease.
For people living with cognitive challenges, such as Alzheimers Disease or dementia, active singing — especially in a group — has been shown to significantly enhance quality of life and positive affect compared with passive music listening alone.
Why Group Singing Matters
When we sing together, something special happens: voices unify and people feel connected. Singing with others can boost confidence, cultivate joy, and create moments of shared expression that elevate individual and collective spirit. Participants often report:
Feel-good energy and release of mood-enhancing neurochemicals.
Social connection and community bonding, which are important drivers of wellbeing.
A safe, low-pressure environment to sing, support others, and simply be present with music.
Whether you’re harmonising in a chorus of voices or cheering on the person taking the spotlight, We Care-a-oke is all about inclusive, uplifting, health-promoting singing experiences.
Professionally Led, Joyfully Delivered
Every session is guided by a professional singer who knows how to foster fun, inclusivity and confidence — helping to get the party started while creating an environment where everyone can shine.
